介紹油畫技法中光和顔色的書，內容還不錯，但是如果和其他同類書比起來的話也並沒有特彆齣彩之處。和其他許多關於光和顔色的從 Hue、Saturation 和 Value 的角度來分解的觀點不同的是，本書作者堅持顔色就是顔色，不應該分開對待，因為如果你選對瞭顔色，那麼 HSV 自然也都是對的瞭——話雖然是沒錯，而且 HSV 分解也並不就是完美的，但是在具體操作上可能還是更容易入手吧。在書裏看到的一些比較有用的 tip 一個是隨時記住 plane 改變一定對應著顔色改變，反之亦然；另一個是書中建議找一些雜誌報紙上的圖和照片，直接在上麵塗塗畫畫來做 value 和 shape 簡化，感覺是一個很不錯的練習，而且現在 digital painting 做這樣的練習更方便瞭。
