年中认识一位朋友，聊及喜爱的读物，对方说自己从不看fiction，今年才开始第一部。我则答从不爱读non-fiction，今年终于开始第一本。那时我在东京正读Aciman的Out of Egypt爱不释手，Aciman笔下的Alexandria混杂着不同的气味，辛辣而芬芳。我闭眼回想坐在代官山蔦屋书店对面的露天餐厅，暴雨后扑面而来的青草味。走在中目黑河边，快要被太阳晒的烤焦的味道，还有街边小店贩卖的袋装饮料，玫瑰树莓混合，和柠檬百香果交换后，无法回忆起哪个味道在舌尖占了上风。傍晚的代代木公园，坐在长椅上凝视脚下甲壳虫在阴影里散步，如刀刻般停留在脑海中，泥土的芳香。气味使回忆复活，我们各自回到魂牵梦萦之地。感谢Aciman，让我的回忆也似他的文字般，温暖而惆怅。

今年最佳的阅读体验，很奇怪的是，感动之处不在于代入角色和情绪中，也没有感受到对某个亲人特殊的感情和爱，在感觉内容都在平铺直叙的时候，有那么一刹那，想起了幼年的自己，和当时各种纠结，复杂的感受。突然想起作者在一访谈里提到，意思大概是我对亚历山大的爱使我不能再回到这个地方了。每个人心中都有一个这样的地方吧。
