读的时候发觉Krippner的书基本是在此书的基础上进一步探讨/批评了在市场是一坨屎时政府的搅屎棍作用。全书探讨三个主题/文化矛盾：1）tension between asceticism and acquisitiveness; 2) tension between bourgeois society and modernism; 3) separation between law from morality。老头子认为只有public household/government而不是market才能扮演裁判的角色，才能消解资本主义内部愈演愈烈的文化矛盾，自由主义和群众利益才能共存，内心os: 才能大力发展（特色）社会主义市场经济）。欣赏作者浓厚的文学艺术底蕴，信手拈来，阅读体验巨佳。
