蘭登·溫納 Langdon Winner，1944年生於美國加利福尼亞的San LuisObispo.1973年畢業於加州大學伯剋利分校，獲得博士學位。他曾經在歐美多所大學任教，從1985年至今一直擔任Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute的講座教授（Thomas Phelan Chair of Humanities and Social Sciences）。他的主要著作還有The Whale and the Reactor， Technology and Democracy。

人造物（技術的産物）有政治屬性嗎？技術有自主性嗎？關注兩大點：the social determinants of technology/ technical arrangement/ flexibility of tech politics以及technological determination （inherently political technologies）看大佬寫論文真是被炸得無地自容

一直很好奇為什麼我讀到的寫技術的文章裏，幾乎沒有人認真地引用Winner，而是順便提及有這麼個人，也在某某陣營裏，主張技術自主，討論過技術決定論。題目和本書的齣版年代，明明就覺得很Relevant。看瞭這本書，生齣瞭一種“OK, tell me something I don't already know."的感覺。正如Winner所說，技術本身是一個非常模糊的感念，因此它其實包含特彆廣泛的內容。如果討論技術的ontology, 那麼很顯然Winner沒有Heidegger, Stiegler的深入。如果是討論技術與Senses的關係，那麼McLuhan做的更好。如果是討論大的技術係統的傾嚮性，又顯然不如後來觀注係統，標準和規範的學者做的清晰。讀完這本書感覺必須瞭解一些J Ellul
