看完這書纔對黑奴的睏境有所感受 本想讀sparknote 就算瞭 但認真讀完 有瞭看日本侵略中國的那種氣憤 憑什麼都是人卻 奪取 他人的權利 憑什麼視他人為 動物都不如 的活動機器 非常佩服Douglass的勇氣，勇敢，智慧，計謀，和性格 是他，幸運的逃齣南方，成為瞭一個有知識的人， 告訴後人黑奴的不人道和血腥的那一麵 他是一個非常謙虛的人，自學成纔（和靠街上的窮孩子的幫助） 寫的真實，樸素，用個人最震撼人心的經曆告訴世人那曾不為人知的人間地獄

兩個作者都很真是和樸實地反應瞭南方黑奴所受的迫害。不過Harriet筆下的Dr.Flint對Lucy的“需要”有點誇張啊…難道極力的“報復”就是因為性侵不成功嗎？這對一個白人來說，他對一個黑奴身體的渴望有點不可思議。使我不得不想是不是他真的是愛上瞭她…不過這還是有待考證。小說本身是傳記，自然吸引力沒有那麼的大，也沒有驚心動魄，可能拍成電影會好些，但總算是紀實瞭當時黑奴的處境。
