作者查爾斯.羅森Charles Rosen（1927—2012）：美國鋼琴傢，音樂著述傢和批評傢。他齣生於紐約的一個建築師之傢，自幼習琴，少年時拜著名鋼琴傢、李斯特的弟子莫裏茨•羅森塔爾為師，可算是李斯特顯赫譜係的“嫡傳”。他的正式職業身份是音樂會鋼琴傢，他對音樂文獻的主要貢獻是《古典風格》。

譯者楊燕迪（1963— ），音樂學傢、音樂評論傢、音樂翻譯傢，現任上海音樂學院副院長、教授。
