While the book continues to teach a systematic approach to program design, the second edition introduces different design recipes for interactive programs with graphical interfaces and batch programs. It also enriches its design recipes for functions with numerous new hints. Finally, the teaching languages and their IDE now come with support for images as plain values, testing, event-driven programming, and even distributed programming.

這本書的優點前麵豆友已經說得很多瞭，上手容易，step by step等等。 其實真得推薦大學能夠把這本書做為編程語言的基礎，尤其是非計算機專業而以後卻又需要進行專業上的計算程序開發的人員。 很多人都把這本書和SICP做對比，大概翻瞭一遍SICP，確實覺得這本書略有囉嗦的嫌疑...
