初學者切忌看這本書，得不償失。這本書唯一適閤的是那些英語非常非常好的讀者，可以分別哪些是有用的，哪些是錯誤。作者在英國混的。英國人英語本來就很差，他們一直在自己的高冷和現在全球通用的美語之間徘徊，因此而導緻瞭不倫不類的雜交寫法。譬如ise和ize，-our和-or在書裡都有，還有引號的用法。其它錯誤包括：連詞since的用法，荷蘭人姓裡van的處理。最離譜的是這句話。 mistakes in ..articles...don't usually obscure the meaning。
