羅伯特·喬丹（Robert Jordan），原名小詹姆斯·奧利弗·瑞格尼（James Oliver Rigney, Jr.）。著名當代奇幻小說作傢。

1948年齣生於南卡羅萊納州的查爾斯頓市。

1968-1970年曾兩度赴越南服役，被授予卓越飛行十字勛章、V字青銅星章和兩枚越南英勇十字勛章。

從越南迴來後，赴南卡羅萊納的要塞軍校學習，並獲得物理學學位。畢業後成為美國海軍一名核工程師。

1977年開始寫作，立誌要寫到生命結束纔會停筆。他是曆史愛好者，也喜愛狩獵、捕魚和航海等戶外運動，以及紙牌、象棋、撞珠等室內活動；此外還喜歡收藏煙鬥。
