有意思的观点是从康熙到雍正，雍正到乾隆，中央对妇女贞操观都有转变（推崇自杀烈女到推崇不自杀的寡妇)，目的是对父系社会的维稳转向对父系社会产权的保护。而且对边远地区输入贞操观也反应了清王朝对多种族帝国的控制和教化过程。

与材料结合紧密导致无法滑水读完。除了最后一章最后两节有点牵强以外，剩余的分析做得很漂亮，各方势力轮流登场。在谈Female chstity中诸多contradiction和negotiation时，似乎隐约在回应Ko：gender orthodoxy中的漏洞在民间不会带来resilience而是致命的conflict和fracture。
