童年到喜剧事业步入正轨。非常working class的背景让他有与英脚灯圈蛮不同的视角。笔下自己是个传统、毫不show biz的northern dude。stumble upon单口之路in itself very cliche。稍特殊的是英圈白手起家到40岁高龄有娃还敢换路折腾，commit要比JCarr那种高学历打底30不到潇洒下水冒更大风险，这一段对家对娃对自己责任的反思很真挚。才意识到和McIntyre和Carr一个时期circuit上来的，跟诺顿一样因Jonathan嘴炮得福蛮幸运。文笔如意料，不是特别有洞见。比小胖自传体验好，可能因期望适中，他也不表达任何resentment、会恰到好处的自嘲、不showy不抱怨。有些表达非常周到，虽然这样无趣，但偶尔还挺有启发。
