I am very pleased to have this opportunity to lend my

support to the publication of this book. During the last eight

years my wife, Mary, and I have had the privilege to work

for Within the Walls inside British Prisons. Our work has

had the full support of the Chaplain General.

During our visits to prisons and whilst speaking with

the men, we heard of Anthony Millen and the work being

done from his cell and in the various prison chapels. We met

him only briefly in HMP Bullingdon, as he was leaving for

HMP The Mount. His reputation for integrity and fearless

speaking of the love and saving power of Jesus Christ was

clear from the men with whom he had come in close contact.

Anthony, Tony to his friends and other prisoners, was

always ready to stop and help men in need. In this book you

will read of personal encounters of people who came face to

face with Jesus at times of great crisis. You will read of their

changed lives, and even tile reconciliation of these inmates to

their wives and loved ones. Those whom Tony came in contact

with could never be the same again. He gives complete glory to

God for what he endured and the changed lives of many people.
