From Booklist Gr. 4-7. This book went to press before the Olympics, so there is no picture of Nancy and her silver medal. However, young fans may enjoy this short biography and the several pages of color pictures that show off her skating career. The text tends to be repetitive (Mrs. Kerrigan's blindness is referred to again and again), and Nancy comes across as almost too good to be true (this was also written before she had her open-mike problems). Still, this is an inexpensive way to cover Nancy's 15 minutes of fame, and an added bonus is the glossary--finally we get a definition of the triple lutz! Ilene Cooper Book Description As a young girl, Nancy Kerrigan had a dream: to  become a world-class figure skater. With the  support of her father and her mother, who is legally  blind, she skated into the spotlight by winning a  bronze medal at the 1992 Winter Olympics and a gold  medal at the 1993 National  championships. Then disaster struck.A  frightening attack before the 1994 National  championships injured her knee and threatened her Olympic  hopes. But with courage and determination, Nancy  battled back to compete at the 1994 Winter Olympics.  Win or lose, Nancy Kerrigan has the heart of a  champion. This is her inspiring story.
