I could really relate to her as she was approximately my age， balancing a career and a personal life. Plus I loved that the book was set in and around one of my favorite cities， Chicago. I was in the fortunate position of being able to meet the author， Gini Hartzmark， when the book was first published in 1992 because I was her publicist and got to go to a publication party in Cleveland， where she lived at the time.
