Why did I write this monologue book?

I have been a professional actor since my early teens, and only after many

years of performing did I begin to write plays. Having been on both sides

of the footliqhts, I began to think, who is more qualified to write for

actors than a playwright who has been an actor?

I know what you want. A monologue that is not a speech, but rather a

character you can make your own, that will reveal your specific talents,

and make your audience sit up and take notice. And do you know what I

want as a playwright, as I listen to auditions all day long? An actor who

will make me sit up and take notice.

There are many monologue books, but none that are original, and solely for

actresses. Do you know that most monologue books are four to eight years

old? This book is Volume One with many more volumes to come, all

containing fresh, new material.

I am betting my reputation that, after reading this book, you will be
