说实话是一本很沉重的书，之前看还有人评论说译本读起来很无味，庆幸我从来对译本无感，因为英文读起来也很没故事性。我这样说应该是很没人性。人性的光，Ethan的Talisman，外温柔内阴冷的妻子，小小年纪世俗气逼人的儿子，好友Danny如同齐桓公一般的惨死，the corruption of morals，最终让他走进海洋寻求死亡的拥抱，海上的雾遮住了星的光，正当他准备掏出刀片结束一切时，突然摸到了女儿偷偷放进他口袋的那块石头。快！他想，快回去，把Talisman交还给下一个light-bearer以免又一盏灯熄灭。
