After spending more than four decades in the entertainment business, Pete Waterman's depth of knowledge and his breadth of experience is unsurpassed. His passion, drive and talent have helped ensure that he, along with his world-famous company, PWL, remains a musical force to be reckoned with. But his other passion is railways and in particular, model railways - his interest started as a youngster train spotting on Leamington Spa station to working on the railways as a fireman before he became one of the world's leading music producers. He has always had a passion for model railways and has been fortunate enough to be able to buy a number of model making companies to further pursue his interest and extend his personal collection and to ensure that the model maker's skills and talents are not lost for ever.Ian Allan Publishing are delighted to publish this unique photographic record which celebrates the 50 years that Pete Waterman has dedicated to his hobby. His collection is well known and is displayed at many shows and exhibitions across the country, but this book gives the opportunity to show the collection on a wider scale. Stunning images of locomotives, both steam and diesel, plus rolling stock will be featured, along with details of the models themselves, the model maker and specific information about the model type.Pete will also give his own insight into each model featured with fascinating captions and descriptions about each model type. The models included in the book are outstanding reproductions of the originals; all are heavily researched for authenticity, and they all work and run. This is a marvellous book to own and dip into for anyone who has an interest in the railways; particularly all ardent railway modellers; more general readers will also be fascinated by the art and skill of model making in miniature.
