S. Van Teslaar. Like the previous edition, this book has as its purpose the presentation of a group of selections for the lay reader that represent, in Dr. Thompson's opinion, the important 'schools' of psychoanalytic thought.The book is not an outline, but an anthology or reader, the title, identical with An Outline of Psychoanalysis, in the real sense of the word, written by Sigmund Freud and published in 1949. Any confusion between the two outlines is enhanced by the publication of a 'revised edition', which takes for granted that everyone is familiar with a comparatively old and minor piece of psychoanalytic literature.
