[有聲書] The Great Courses係列的有聲課程，語言學入門。講者很幽默，整個講義串得很好，至少讓我這個外行覺得收獲不少。語言的成長、演變和消亡，口語、書麵語和手語（手語屬於人工語言），還有pidgin和creole這種一代和二+代的多語言混閤。最有趣的是，看pidgin/creole的形成過程，也能反推一些要消亡語言的消亡過程（舉個或許不夠恰當的例子：我們之前愛說，我們隻會說“中國加油”而日本會說“風月同天”）。所以一些中英文夾雜使用如果能成氣候的話（比如“hold住”），或許很有發展潛力。我之前略有所聞的文化和語言關係的Sapir-Whorf假說，作者錶示反對。另外，講者的演講風格和課程設計很值得學習！！

McWhorter教授真是集幽默與纔華於一身，時不時穿插的小吐槽/笑話真是可愛，還經常對音樂劇引經據典。對於語言/方言以及creole的講述非常有意思。強烈推薦。
