The book is very technical. I found it pretty hard to follow. The author is so well versed in Greco-Roman literature but apparently I myself am not. My Bible professor recommended me to read it to understand church fathers' historical context and how they shared allegorical interpretations with the philosophers seeking a higher meaning in the text.
