琳達•科利（Linda Colley，1949-），英國皇傢曆史學會和皇傢文學學會成員，普林斯頓大學曆史學教授，曾任教於耶魯大學和倫敦政治經濟學院，長於英國史、帝國史和民族主義問題研究。著有《挑戰寡頭政治：1714-1760年的托利黨》（1982年）、《納米爾》（1988年）、《英國人：國傢的形成，1707-1837年》（1992年）、《囚徒：1600-1850年的英國、帝國和世界》（2002）和《伊麗莎白·瑪什的痛苦經曆：世界曆史中的一個女人》（2007年）。

Colley這本書算是專業領域從Anne到William IV時期英國史的普及讀物，首先它很規範，每章都清晰明瞭，前麵有概括後麵有總結，條理分明的簡述史實，沒有過多側重於自己的觀點，沒有很深入，對於曆史生來說通俗易懂完全不需要老師講解，插圖引用的都很經典從Benjamin West到William Hogarth該有的全都有。相比之下，下個term的textbook, Whitewashing Britain要難啃的多。
