With the help of Templeton the rat, who never did anything for anybody unless there was something in it for him, and a wonderfully clever plan of her own, Charlotte saved the life of Wilbur, who by this time had grown up to be quite a pig. Published over fifty years ago, with original illustrations by Garth Williams, "Charlotte's Web" has become an all-time favourite children's story.

大家都在談論溫暖阿，友情阿，童年阿，似乎完全忽略了寫作背景..此書寫於1952年，正值冷戰開始不久，各種動物的組合難免讓人想到《動物莊園》裏的隱喻..單純作為“兒童文學”，我便真不知出彩的地方在哪裡，以至於幾近開始憂慮以後要給小孩看什麼的童話故事呢？是不是不“說理”不足以叫“兒童文學”？何必要先用早教規訓，而後再鼓勵《守望者》式的青春期叛逆？
