On the first weekend of 1989, Conde is woken from his drunken sleep by the insistent ringing of the telephone. The Old Man, his boss at headquarters, is calling about an urgent case. Rafael Morin, the boss of an import/export firm has not come home after the New Year's celebration. As it turns out, the missing man is an ex-colleague of Conde from their school days. The man in question was known for his discipline and had an enviable record and had made Conde jealous by stealing a woman's love from him. Having to face once again the pain of his adolescent love. Conde discovers that the perfect past upon which Rafael Morin has based his brilliant career has some suspicious elements worth investigating.
