Marta Zinsser grew up ina Seattle suburb and couldn't wait to leave. In New York she thrived as an independent woman with no need for men, even when she decided to have a baby. She certainly never thought she'd ever come back. But when her mother becomes ill, Marta realises that this is her 10-year-old daughter's last chance to get to know her grandmother.
