The F-15 Eagle is probably the most effective air-to-air combat aircraft in history, with 104 kills and no F-15's downed by enemy fire. Developed in response to the threat of the Soviet MiG-25 'Foxbat', it is an all-weather air-to-air fighter capable of deep interdiction missions, and has even recently been used to fire missiles to down satellites successfully! In service in the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Japan, the F-15 has been involved in Operation Desert Storm, Gulf War, Bosnia, Operation Provide Comfort in Turkey, and continues to patrol Iraq and Iran airspace today.
