2000年,因她在积极心理学领域的杰出贡献,美国心理协会授予她坦普尔顿奖。坦普尔顿奖的影响力及奖金额堪比诺贝尔奖,每年只有四位在“精神领域”的研究中做出非凡成就的人才能获此殊荣。
