Far Bright Star读完，远看故事本身非常诗意，但细看的话每个字都是沙漠炼狱般让人绝望的野蛮与残暴，完全不向读者妥协，Napoleon和Preston经历酷刑写了3大章，连其中的幽默感都带着残酷的尾巴。Napolean就在这样的残暴中麻木，痛苦，失落，生存，死亡，然后新生。一些关于死亡与战争的思考非常黑暗。成就Far Bright Star的是Olmstead创造的令人窒息的炙热沙漠氛围以及野蛮残酷的暴行给角色带来的折磨，文字的作用很重要，希望改编的时候能找好这方面的平衡。
