What is happening to men, masculinities and gender relations in Europe? How are changes around gender affecting men? This book, the result of over five years' collaboration by the leading European researchers on men, is the first to adopt a comparative perspective on men and masculinities in Europe. Now available in paperback, it critically reviews the state of knowledge on men and masculinities, focusing on the different situations in fourteen countries across Eastern, Central and Western Europe. In particular, it focuses on the implications of rapid and substantial social change, the EU and Europeanisation, globalization, and new post-socialist configurations of Europe for the construction of men, masculinities and men's practices.
