Kaylee Sanders's idea of a perfect summer is lying on the beach with a cheesy romance novel in hand. But her homecoming is less than ideal when she arrives to a quiet house. Her father is consumed with work and her mother is at the family's beach house. To make matters worse, Kaylee's ex-boyfriend is home and wants to be "friends." But Kaylee knows she needs a summer on the sand, so she heads to her family's house in Connecticut to relax. Before she even has a chance unwind she discovers that her parents' marriage is in ruins. What's worse, it was her mother's doing. Kaylee and her mother have always had a great relationship, but her mother's betrayal forces Kaylee to question everything she thought she knew. After a blowout, Kaylee sits crying at the water's edge wondering how her perfect summer could have got off to such a miserable start. It's then, that a handsome stranger jogs into her life shifting her focus from her deteriorating family to her own burgeoning heart.
