Midwest Ramblin' is a toe-tapping re-release of 26 old-time music tunes by Wisconsin's beloved Goose Island Ramblers, a trio of musicians who began performing their special blend of accordion, fiddle, guitar, and humor in the Madison area during the 1960s. Musicians Bruce Bollerud, George Gilbertsen, and Wendy Whitford explored a regional selection of melodies from polka standards like "Sauerkraut Polka" and "Swiss Yodel Waltz" to old ballads like "Milwaukee Fire." Also included are original songs by the Ramblers ranging from the zany "There's No Norwegians in Dickeyville" to the "Ballad of JFK." Distributed for the Center for the Study of Upper Midwestern Cultures, University of Wisconsin-Madison
