本周第四本，史料和文笔比Carey出的三本要好很多。整体依然是李提摩太生平记录与评述，Reeve和后来Evans都对李氏所说的寻找“worthy”下了具体的定义。另外他的“世界联盟”的思想是为和平提出的，而和平则是实现上帝之国在大地上建立的要求，同时，思想精神和科学技术在其中缺一不可。李提摩太太理想化了，梦想很远大，现实很艰难（近代传教和侵略的关系是怎么也撇不清的），一生奉献给上帝，也间接部分奉献给了中国。
