評分用瞭整整三天時間，一口氣讀完瞭這本書，被深深的震撼。作者同時描寫瞭兩個世界，一個世界是現代學者羅蘭和莫德的世界，這個世界有點像戴維•洛奇的《小世界》；另外一個世界是維多利亞時代詩人艾許和剋裏斯塔貝爾的世界，這個世界以書信、日記構成，卻又比“真實的世界”更...

拜厄特用瞭兩個夏天完成這本書，她已經構思十五年瞭。最先確定的是書名，靈感來自Coleridge和研究他的Kathleen Coburn，想著她把一生都獻給瞭這個死人。她最先要的是死者與活人、研究者與詩人、性的連接。又放棄不掉學院的部份，又決意仿照Eco玫瑰的名字，把維多利亞時代召喚迴來，再加入多蘿西的偵探寫法。於是通俗和遺世獨立、世俗和性靈混雜在一起，反而對立著把那魂牽夢縈的東西降調瞭，接榫處處理得並不好，學院其他人物形象過於通俗，最後開墓的部份甚至有點鬧劇的意味。放掉瞭女性之間更深層的微妙，但確實留下瞭魂牽夢縈如夢似幻的東西。如果是atwood寫，會更流暢文體更繁多絢麗，但會失去拜厄特的生澀。如果是PF來寫，會減掉三分之二篇幅，但保留遺世獨立的氣質。如果是門羅來寫，嗯，她會換個切入點。
评分這本書買來已經將近一年，可是我現在讀瞭一半不到一點，中間停停看看，剛開始我似乎被作者華麗和細膩的辭藻弄得有點缺乏耐心，現在重新拾起，似乎發現瞭魅力，期待中(๑˙ー˙๑)
评分掉書袋的偵探愛情故事，看完意猶未盡，隻是結尾巧閤太多有點落入俗套。另外，這一版的字印得實在太小，不推薦購買此版本。
