But ever since the first Neanderthal killed a ginger mammoth and put a roughly sheared lump of his pelt on top of his head, the human race has been fighting back. 10,000 years later, and with new space-age technologies and materials at his disposal, modern man's wig is a far cry from that early crude attempt.
