J. M. 库切 (1940－　)

2003年诺贝尔文学奖获得者，著名作家和学者。生于南非开普敦，先后在南非和美国接受教育。库切学识渊博，在文学、哲学、社会学、伦理学和宗教方面造诣颇深，是一位学者型作家。几乎囊括所有文学大奖，两次获得布克奖，是英语文学中获奖最多的作家。1980年小说《等待野蛮人》一出版，即为库切赢得了国际声誉，英国企鹅出版社将此书列入“20世纪经典”系列。库切是一个有道德原则的怀疑论者，从根子上抓住了文明的痼疾。
