【作者簡介】

弗雷德•斯皮爾（Fred Spier）,國際大曆史協會創始人之一，曾任該協會主席，大曆史學派理論重要的貢獻者，荷蘭阿姆斯特丹大學高級講師（Senior Lecturer）。最初研習生物化學，後轉嚮文化人類學和社會史，全身心投入到大曆史研究和普及事業中。1994年至2016年在阿姆斯特丹大學組織並教授大曆史課程；2003年至2013年在埃因霍溫理工大學開辦大曆史係列講座；2009年至2018年在阿姆斯特丹大學學院開辦大曆史課程。斯皮爾進行瞭廣泛的學術研究，包括植物的遺傳操作、秘魯的宗教，政治和生態。已齣版《秘魯的宗教製度》（Religious Regimes in Peru）、《大曆史的結構：從大爆炸到今天》（The Structure of Big History: From the Big Bang until Today）、《大曆史與人類的未來》（Big History and the Future of Humanity）等。

斯皮爾提齣的大曆史模型被越來越多的學者和機構采用，其中最著名的是比爾·蓋茨資助的“Big History Project”，此項目已在美國三韆多傢中學開辦免費數字化課程。

孫嶽，曆史學（世界史專業）博士，首都師範大學外國語學院教授，主要從事翻譯教學及文史類跨文化研究，尤其是近年來更多緻力於大曆史研究。2014年被選為國際大曆史協會理事會理事。主要譯作有《起源：萬物大曆史》《大曆史與人類的未來（修訂版）》《曆史學宣言》《西方的興起：人類共同體史》（閤譯）等。
