此書滿適閤當下的中國公益人閱讀，尤其是在麵臨從政府資助往市場邏輯轉型期的非營利組織，可以提供一個宏觀的理論背景來理解自己的曆史位置（注：我並沒有說西方公民社會的組織理論是萬靈藥）。事實上根據此書第二第三部分的論證，近年中國非營利組織的市場化運作和近來火爆的社會企業/影響力投資無非是受新自由主義對政府福利政策、資本供血維係、保守主義觀念的餘波影響；企業社會責任的priority/cause無非是被商業、公關、法律、戰略、社會要求所限製的（第七章確實適閤用迴歸跑跑），決不能替代真正的public goods；社區自治組織的大背景依舊是私有化福利國傢，宏觀趨勢在所難免啊；當然非營利組織的自主性和創新能力還是很重要的。又及：我並沒有不再關注中國的公益慈善組織，隻是這個話題暫時被我放在後颱運轉罷瞭。M
