Cho was born in Seoul, Korea, and at the age of 6 he and his parents came to the U.S. He never had any formal training in art, and taught himself to draw and write by reading art books and comics. At the University of Maryland, he created the award winning college strip, University 2, which ran in the campus newspaper. Upon graduating from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor degree in Nursing, he signed with Creators Syndicate Inc.
