故事、情节一般，字里行间简单堆砌着各种作家、画家名字和作品名称，看完没其他感觉，唯一想到的就是想去看《瓦尔登湖》了。

这本书看的挺“痛苦”漫长，斯坦福大学英语硕士写的书，每一页不查五六个闻所未闻的单词和五六个看着眼熟的combination根本过不去。再加上全书是纽约30年代背景下的故事，各种关于爵士乐，艺术，时尚，打猎，赛马的细致描绘都太超越我的知识范围了。看的真心累…… 然而，撑我看下去的除了一份死不甘心的强迫症，还有书里那份不可言说又不断期待的克制之爱。结尾让我想到了La La Land。你觉得爱是什么呢？而我就是不可救药的迷恋这种“想触碰又收回手”的爱情。

故事本身并没有很多惊喜，但语言和叙述都太流畅太温柔，好适合一杯热茶和些许阳光的周日下午。
