為數不多的不拖沓的範疇論教材之一，且忠於書名絕無超出introduction水平的內容，沒有2-category，沒有monad，甚至都沒太提Yoneda lemma，但難得地用了最後一章講poset. 若無範疇論基礎不建議作為第一本入門教材學習（因為知識結構不全），若有一定基礎強烈推薦作為複習讀物。
