果真是研究什麼的人都有.....Forty首先是個建築史學傢 他寫到一半的時候似乎突然讀到瞭類似We have never been mordern之類的書然後就懵逼瞭。我意思是他很多概念 比如mordenity 從未被解釋 而他似乎也一直在不同可能性之間搖擺。另外混凝土建築大多數實在是真·“醜”。

一本非常好的書，混凝土作為媒介的社會史，透過混凝土討論瞭很多文化轉嚮的內容，這也是Adrian forty擅長的曆史寫作路數。十個章節從不同角度寫作瞭作為媒介的混凝土，譬如反映不同時期對混凝土的不同認知和使用方式，和為何變化背後的社會，技術和經濟原因，也有章節把混凝土作為技術概念下現代化過程的錶徵，反映政治經濟的變化。總之是一本特彆值得看的精彩著作，另外他寫作乾淨易懂，不愛掉書袋，隨便看看都值得。
