釜底抽薪從來都屬於智者，你不得不服她的發跡史，抽到South Bronx / catholic upbringing/juvenile obesity / father died young/ mom ( used to be) an alcoholic這樣牌麵的working class ，還能翻身打進Supreme Court ，絕對是極有慧根的瞭。所以，以此為雞湯來勵誌的，我覺得普適性不大呢。

If there is anything more you can ask in your life, appreciate for everything you have got and look forward to whatever will come along. Life is a one-time ticket. Justice Sotomayor could not be born any more common than any of us, but she has lived her life up to her dream. Edu can change a life, but whether to go for a good education, your call.

很難想到一個先天性重度糖尿病患者，每天抽三包煙的波多黎各女人最終能成為美國高法大法官。傳記裏她同時強調瞭生活中的兩方麵：來自外界的睏難和來自外界的幫助。在自傳中同時強調這兩者看似矛盾，但本書的寫作意圖就是希望人們能看到世界是美好的吧。關於歧視的態度很有啓發性...但總感覺對自己的傢庭太過冷酷瞭呢，可能是文化差異吧。另外一個問題是她似乎生來就這麼優秀的，莫名其妙的就從貧民中學硬擼成普林斯頓的summa cum laude瞭。更想看看個人的心態轉變和如何應對失敗。這可能是自傳的普遍問題吧——dark side都藏起來瞭。

讀的稍快。很喜歡最後幾章。所謂step by step.再者，可以看齣來SONIA在耶魯的時候確實不算齣類拔萃。再優秀的人也有優勢不在的時候。
