技术批判下的电影技术。笔者画了一个图讲述电影技术从科学到技术，然后到广泛使用的过程，所谓The Model of Technological Change，为了去分析电影技术是社会影响下出现而产生。书中有两个概念非常有意思，一个叫Supervening Social Necessity(社会性需求介入)，另外一个是Suppression of Radical Potential (激进潜能的压制。。。）, 大致就是说技术发展不是目的论的，而原先所谓的“目的", 已经作为社会环境介入到技术发展的过程中。这本96年的书已经有了一定Media Archaeology的缩影，去各种电影技术在文艺复兴时期或者漫长的艺术史中的缩影。然而我觉得它仍然存在问题，太关注那些不同时期的new novelty！
