应该是专栏豆腐块集结成册？好玩的一本小书，巴恩斯特别爱同食谱较劲儿，若不能理解他这种“cookbook原教旨主义”，大概不能接受各种斤斤计较（“凭什么食谱里的字词就没小说里的来得要紧？前者导致生理消化不良，后者给予精神打击。”），要觉得此书龟毛又欠揍。或许因成书年代早，走轻松向，特别好读，文风也俏皮，各种英式joke——别指望读完长几分厨艺，笑一笑有益身心健康倒是真的。很喜欢最后一篇里Bowen讲述的故事：诗人因精神崩溃而被拘禁于医院，出院后住在可以俯瞰面包坊的屋子里。诗人认为自己身心开始好转始于某一天——那一日，他望向窗外，瞟见一个买面包的女人。看她全神贯注地挑面包，诗人感到了极度的羡慕。Cooking too is an affair of sanity. Sure it is.
