A new introduction by prominent Williams scholar Robert Bray, editor of The Tennessee Williams Annual Review, reappraises the play more than half a century after it won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award: "More than fifty years after telling his story of a family whose lives form a triangle of quiet desperation, Williams's mellifluous voice still resonates deeply and universally." This edition of The Glass Menagerie also includes Williams's essay on the impact of sudden fame on a struggling writer, "The Catastrophe of Success," as well as a short section of Williams's own "Production Notes." The cover features the classic line drawing by Alvin Lustig, originally done for the 1949 New Directions edition.

#家庭责任的互相捆绑和隔绝显示的玻璃还有逃离的欲望# 既然算是田纳西自己的故事总觉得tom比写到的还要复杂或者我可能原本是更期待另一种叙说方式的寻求精神世界庇护却因为虚无的庇护而感到疲惫最后逃离却又附着上回忆的重担还有包围着laura的那圈玻璃球的碎裂(which was a bit of..ugh) 到最后谁也不能够真正逃脱。。。反正就是好想看演出来啊括号里的场景描写太美了对bob crowley的舞台设计好期待
