本来是一章英文一章原文对照着读，后来发现那样反而读得很慢很有障碍，于是改变方式，一口气把英文通读了。当然是读得似懂非懂，不过大概有个印象。目前最深的体会是勒古恩的虚构作品中的世界观的确深受《道德经》的影响。另外也知道了西方从19世纪就开始翻译研究道德经，译本无数，解读无数。勒古恩这个版本不是严谨的翻译，而是综合了很多个译本的译写，她试图再现原文的密度和诗意。她说1898 Paul Carus的译本里，把原文的每一个字都注出了英文的意思，这成了她理解吃透原文的基础。一种很奇特的方式。书的排版设计简洁大方，质朴舒展，很喜欢。

厄休拉本人不会中文，所以是结合已有的各译本和自己的理解翻译的，整体水平很高，但仍有谬误，有些地方应该是没能理解老子最核心的无的概念。
