Victor Hugo (1802-85) wrote volumes of criticism, Romantic costume dramas, satirical verse and political journalism but is best remembered for his novels, especially "Notre-Dame de Paris" (1831), also known as "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" and "Les Miserables" (1862) which was adapted into one of the most successful musicals of all time. 都已经记不清我上次看世界名著是何时何地了——应该是《堂吉珂德》，去年暑假买回来的。一年，也就是说一整年我都没有再碰任何一本世界名著了，当然我所提到的名著是单纯的小说名著——曾经在小学和初中无比热衷过的那些动人的故事。不知道是因为什么，也许是因为口味的变化...

评分读的书虫系列的那个英文普及版，精简至此却还能有一番体会，真好。我记得我一直更喜欢狄更斯来着。可这次读觉得沙威太像商鞅了吧，不是治法之调理，而是执法之严神似，也是坚信“法”治方大道。酷吏自古有之且从来都不会少，可有几个得善终的，又有几个晚年真仔细思索自己到底值不值的，幸好想不通。
