看作傢寫遊記顯然不是為瞭攻略，重要的是他們的所思所想，對當時見聞的記錄，以及見聞促發的思考。無論看斯坦貝剋還是狄更斯還是村上春樹還是毛姆，都是這個目的，有人說全是議論很無聊，不知道是不是這個娛樂至上的時代特有的看法，蠢是蠢得來！ 有很多地方很有共鳴。比如開篇...

曆時近一年 我終於把它讀完瞭. 圖書館書 還挺捨不得還迴去 跟著從美國去瞭德國再中國再迴到美國呢 也真是包著地球走瞭一圈瞭, 不容易. 在最後講到黑人和迴傢時還真挺傷心的. 總覺得和Steinbeck有很多相似的想法, 比跟很多其他的作傢多啦.
