Jack London was an American novelist, journalist, social-activist and short-story writer whose works deal romantically with elemental struggles for survival. At his peak, he was the highest paid and the most popular of all living writers. Because of early financial difficulties, he was largely self educated past grammar school.

非常喜歡傑剋*倫敦的作品，最初是從《熱愛生命》開始的，這本《野性的呼喚》同樣地有著旺盛的生命力的張力。這本小說以一條狗的智商來敘述故事，很特彆，也很動感。石雅芳的譯本字句很美，推薦給小學高年級的孩子們讀，從小懂得品味經典的力量。
