业余爱好者也可以读懂的书，很多有共鸣的地方，比如说对钢琴“音色”的产生和控制，作者的解释有一语道破天机的感觉。

去纽约的飞机上看了一半，从纽约回看完剩下的一半。看来昨天晚上我对某人的评论过于harsh了，这本书里面揭露卡内基音乐厅的dress circle确实有把声音搞浑浊的功能，但是我坐的明明是box层啊。这本书还给弹得不好的钢琴家找了另一个好听的借口：the greatness of a piece, if it is in a familiar style, will pierce even the fog of an incompetent performance.
