在后记中，米勒小心谨慎地把福柯视为对西方思想中几乎一切认为是“正确的”的东西的反对，这是明见。正因此我对福柯有太多保留态度，这位尼采的儿子将权力描述成了一个克莱因瓶式的存在，以至于对它说“no”也不过是另一种说“yes”。问题在于，他自己如何超脱而出？ 1983年春...

我承认，是书名中的“Passion”一词吸引了我。更兼中译本搞成“生死爱欲”，一副八卦小报派头。但这却都是幌子，整本书其实是以很严谨的资料在说话。除了福柯生平的事迹，更多的是对其思想的溯源与作品的解析。这是一本严肃甚至太过严肃的传记作品 (如果本书定位为传记作品的话...

忍不住还是找来英文版翻了翻。对于福柯而言，以生命写作，将自我作为一件艺术品来塑造。“每次当我试图去进行一项理论工作时，这项工作的基础总是来自我个人的经验，它总是和我在我的周围看到的那些事情有关。事实上，正是因为我觉得在我关注的事物中，在我去打交道的制度中，在我与他人的关系中，我发现了某种破裂的东西，某种单调灰暗的不和谐之处或运转失调的地方，我就会着手撰写一部著作，它实际上是一部自传的几个片断。”（1981）另：上次课上跟学生说，这是目前最好看的一本福柯传记文学（满足各窥探福柯个人各种八卦花边新闻的好奇心）。也不知道他们会不会主动去找来看看讷～

喜欢那些知识分子。

写得很精彩，但还是有点小失望，米勒笔下的哲人似乎和常人并无太大差别。
